good luck. most accidents accross the border are hit and runs or settled with some money on the spot. also, good luck finding someone with insurance. cheapest auto insurance is not the way to go. look into full coverage in case any of the above happens. i grew up in el paso, tx (border city)

Think carefully if its cheap but worthless then what did you buy? Progressive sells worthless insurance policies. There is nothing funny about death and an insurance company such as Progressive that REFUSES to honor their policy. You will regret not taking the time to look at online quotes and call the local companies! What is good and cheap for other people may not be the cheapest for you. Their situations, records, credit, etc is different than yours. Also, as for switching to a company like Geico or Progressive – call some local body shops, tell them you are shopping for insurance and want their knowledge – I guarantee most of them will say that they would rather deal with SF than with Geico or Progressive.

With today's economy, of course you have to save as much as you can – but, please make sure you feel comfortable with the new company you go to and that they gave you an apples for apples quote for your coverage with State Farm.
