men are much more aggressive and take more risks. its not discrimination its just fact; if you take more risks youre more likely to get into and accident.

I see your point in that. It would be no different to base car insurance on ethnicity based on statistics. What are factors in the amount we pay for insurance is personal history of course, age, grades (if in school), whether or not a person has bad credit, along with many other things.
Most men are too macho anyways to actually believe women are better drivers.

8 years ago, an insurance agent told me that women get in 70% less accidents than men do.
In my opinion this doesn't mean women are "better" drivers, but we are definately safer on average. We aren't usually cocky, aggressive, and arrogant behind the wheel like men are. It's these aggressive types who get in the most accidents ruining it for all men.

Men from when they start driving till 25, have way more accidents then any other group…costing insurance companies more money. So that group pays more money.

Women are more likely to Use there health insurance regularly, plus women have a long list of things that can go wrong(or right pregnancy) that men dont have….So women cost insurance companies more so we pay more.

It's simple capitalism..insurance companies are out to make a profit.
Unless we completely take out the capitalism and give the government control over these companies…it will never be exactly the same.
So no feminist/mra's arnt targeting insurance companies. (at least not to my knowledge)

Insurance companies also "discriminate" against singles, poor credit, elderly, childless, and certain careers.

I pay $19 (USD) a month for my auto insurance. I have a 2006 Nissan and a perfect driving record.

Edit: I have an idea! How about if you fake a rate quote and give all details the same EXCEPT gender and see what the price difference is…

Believe me, gender does make a difference to driving , as does age.

the insurance companies are not in the business for the good of their health, they are out to make a healthy profit out of all of us.

The reason that they can offer discounted insurance for us ladies is that we cost less, we actually have more accidents, but they tend to be minor and therefore cost less to settle. Youngsters have more and that's why it costs so much to insure if you are a young driver.

If the TV ads have sexist comments in them, then I would complain to the people who regulate the ads, I agree that this bit isn't fair, but you need to get your voice heard in the right places.
